Department of Political Science is offering UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE COURSE in Political Science. This department was established in the year 2009 with General Degree course later the Honours course was introduced in 2015 keeping in mind its demand as a subject in the adjoining areas.The primary objective of this department is to impart and offer easy skillful knowledge on politics. As State is the primary moto of the subject we usually try to expand our knowledge in and around the term “state”. It is from classroom that the basic knowledge of state, society, civil society and family all gets its fundamental comprehension so conveying proper knowledge on society and state is our aim. And with this aim we try to build proper enlightened citizens whose footsteps will be followed by others.
The political science department has a college library with adequate number of books being added every year. The smart classroom has digital projection system for screening documentary films, short films and other audio-visual content.
Teaching methods that are used:
The students take active part in the national service scheme (NSS) of Shirakole College. The students participate in seminars and workshops organized by different institutions to be aware of the latest academic and technical issues related to political science. They take part in various inter college competitions and also participate in sports and cultural activities organized by the college.
Many students pursue higher studies and complete their post-graduation in political science. A number of students are employed in school service commission. Many students of our department are presently serving in various government and private sectors such as banking, healthcare, police department and marketing.
