The Department of Education is offering UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE COURSE in Education with Honours and General. The department was established in the year 2007-2008 session, starting with B.A under 1+1+1 Regulation of University of Calcutta. At present the number of students has increased manifolds with a consistent academic performance by the students. There are two full time teachers and three SACT teachers in the department at present. The primary objective of this department of excellence is to impart both basic and advanced quality education in under-graduate level under the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) that is introduced by the University of Calcutta from the year 2018. Being an interdisciplinary subject, education offers multisector knowledge related to philosophy, psychology, sociology, administration and management, history, technology, guidance and counselling and statistics.
Infrastructural Facilities:
- The education department has a separate classroom.
- The smart classroom with digital projection system and touch-enabled smart-board is used for screening documentary films, short films and other audio-visual content related to educational practices.

Special Activities:
- The students of the department also regularly participate in different co-curricular activities.
- The students also take active part in the national service scheme (NSS) of Shirakole Mahavidyalaya.
- Our department also celebrated Birthday Anniversary of Swami Vivekanenda.
Activities of the Department:
- The students participate in seminars and workshops organized by different institutions to be aware of the latest academic and technical issues related to education.
- Students participate in sports and cultural activities organized by the college.
- The department also organizes teachers’ exchange programs in collaboration with other educational institutes.
- Students visit different schools for data collection on Practical Subject, guided by their teacher.
Job Prospect:
- After completion of graduation, eligible students can pursue post-graduation and subsequently appear for competitive examinations like SSC, NET, SET, and CSC.
