Dear Students,

It is my privilege to welcome you to Shirakole Mahavidyalaya, a centre of learning that has been nurturing hope and knowledge since its establishment in 2007 at Shirakole, Usthi, South 24 Parganas. As the only institution of higher education in the Margrahat I (Paschim) region, our college stands as a symbol of progress and empowerment for the rural and minority communities it serves. From its modest beginning in the premises of Yudhistir Nanilal High School, the college has grown steadily into a vibrant academic institution. Today, it offers Honours courses in Bengali, Education, English, History, Political Science, Geography, Philosophy, and Sanskrit, along with General courses in Bengali, Education, English, History, Political Science, Geography, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Food & Nutrition, Physical Education, Sociology, and B. Com (General).

Our students—many of whom are first-generation learners—represent courage, determination, and the aspiration to transform their lives through education. It is our mission to enlighten these young minds with knowledge, critical thinking, and moral values that will prepare them to face the challenges of a changing world. At Shirakole Mahavidyalaya, we believe education is not only about academic achievement but also about building character and compassion. Through co-curricular activities and the initiatives of our NSS unit, we encourage students to develop leadership qualities and a spirit of service to society.
